Abstract「要旨」早期老化傾向と進行する痴呆症状を呈したダウン症候群の一例を報告した. ダウン症候群の長期生存例では高頻度にアルツハイマー型痴呆を合併することが知られているが, 今回脳血流シンチグラフィでアルツハイマー型痴呆に特徴的な脳血流パターンを認め, 核医学的にその合併を裏づけることができた. 早期老化傾向のみられる本症において, その経過観察に脳血流シンチグラフィは有用であろうと考えられた. 「I. はじめに」近年, アルツハイマー型痴呆をはじめとする各種痴呆症に関して single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) による局所脳血流分布の研究が盛んに行われ, しだいに疾患ごとの特徴的脳血流分布が明らかにされつつある. 一方ダウン症候群の長期生存例には, アルツハイマー型痴呆に類似した早期老化現象をみることが知られている.

AbstractA rare case of Down's syndrome complicated with progressive dementia of Alzheimer type in a 41-year-old man was reported. On 123I-IMP SPECT, the patient revealed symmetrical bilateral temporo-parietal hypoperfusion. This finding seemed to support the developing dementia of Alzheimer type on the basis of clinical manifestations. 123I-IMP SPECT seemed to be useful for early diagnosis of Alzheimer-like change in a natural course of Down's syndrome.
