Abstract | [Summary] A combined study of 67Ga-citrate and 99mTc-phytate liver scintigram was carried out by a multiplane tomographic scanner (PHO/CON) and a scinticamera (Pho/Gamma HP) in 68 subjects with intrahepatic mass lesions. The accumulation of 67Ga-citrate was present in 35 of 36 patients with hepatoma, and in 22 of 26 patients with secondary liver tumors. The uptake of 67Ga-citrate in the rim of defects seen in the radiocolloid scan was visualized more frequently in metastases than in hepatoma. This finding was increasingly noted as defects were larger in the size. The 67Ga-citrate scan by the multiplane tomographic scanner showed good resolution of 67Ga-citrate localization in the tumor from that in the surrounding normal tissue, with the additional advantage of indicating of the depth of tumors within the liver. |
