Abstract | 「1.

Abstract | [Summary]It is important for clinicians to estimate regional lung function under a physiological condition. Since the use of radioisotopes in investigating regional lung function, it has become easier to analyze regional ventilation and perfusion under a physiological condition. Presently it was attempted to establish a technic in studying regional lung ventilation with a mathematical analysis of the washout curve obtained after 133Xe rebreathing. In this paper a model lung has a common dead space and regional fast and slow compartments. Percent space volume and minute ventilation of each compartment were calculated by computer and compared between normal subjects and patients with pulmonary diseases. The validity for the values calculated was discussed. |
